Momentous

I mailed the "payoff amount" check last week, but my one college loan provider reflected today my account was "paid in full." Granted, I still have another (more vicious) college loan outstanding, but I officially paid off the easier, more manageable one. Yay! It feels good.

+ WXPN providing my office soundtrack keeps paying off. Not only have I caught MGMT's "Time to Pretend" (blogged about already) a few times, but I'm really digging the Ben Folds ditty "You Don't Know Me" featuring Regina Spektor.

Steady

As I said, it's official!

+ Congrats to my brother on the byline for his nice article/update on Billy King's bad 2007 Sixers draft picks. They should have drafted Nick Young!

+ Have been dipping back into ZShare a little and picked up two tracks I'm feeling, on opposite ends of the spectrum:

The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Keyshia Cole (feat. Missy Elliot and Lil' Kim) - Let It Go

I'm really liking the Icky Thump.

+ Big, fun weekend on tap. Saturday brings the FreshBurst Run, and my debut into the 5-mile racing circuit. I've done about all I can do in preparation. I'm really excited about the race. The weekend will also be LRH-intensive, and that's always a good thing.

Baseball and Music

Le Sillies are just not good. They had Zito on the ropes three out of the six innings he pitched Monday, but each time he bore down and wriggled his way out. I was glad to see it, because Zito is one of my fave hurlers, whether in Oakland or San Fran. He possesses a tremendous yacker. And as a catcher, I appreciate that immensely. Great day at the Bank!

I thought it was funny that Ryan Howard's plate-approach music is The Shop Boyz "Party Like a Rock Star".

Afterword, I made my way back to the apt, where I chilled out and searched for some music via the Z. I also watched my fave episode of Scrubs (on dvd), "My T.C.W." Got another excellent quote from the ep, that I may share at a later date. Anyway, more ZShare success:

Beyonce - "Flaws and All"
The Killers - "Read My Mind" (really like this song)
Ms. Jade (feat. Nelly Furtado and Timbaland) - "Ching Ching"

I heard "Read My Mind" at the Bank, so that reminded me how much I liked that song, and to look for it later. I also decided that the Nelly Furtado contribution to "Ching Ching" was too hot to ignore.

King of Camden

Killa! Made another jaunt to Camden Wednesday morning. After two consecutive successful trips to killa Camden, I'm ready to declare myself the King of Camden. I believe my two years spent in the YC gave me instant street cred with that hood.

Later that day, I caught the D-backs v. Phils game at the Bank. Boy, the Sillies are not good. Nice of Charlie Manual to bench Howard for the game, only to have him pinch-hit in the bottom of the 9th and line into a game-ending double play. Can't really blame that on The Temp, though. Charlie Manual stinks and that was some bad baserunning by Borne. I was glad to see the D-Backs win. They have some good, young mashers. Plus, my man, Valverde, got the save.

More ZShare success stories:

Lil' Bossie and Lil' Webbie - "Wipe Me Down (remix)"
Gwen Stefani - "4 in the Morning"

The Benefits of ZShare

I first learned of ZShare through discobelle.net. I go to those guys on the regular for the newest in rap, mixes and electronica. They utilize ZShare for downloading mp3's. Eventually, I thought why can't I use ZShare for my own means to search out mp3's I don't want to plop 99 cents for on iTunes. Over the weekend I started Googling a song title + ZShare and voila - I had some luck finding songs I wanted on the KreiPod and ToddPod Shuffle for Free.99. ZShare is great. In the last couple days, I've obtained:

50 Cent - "Straight to the Bank"
Kelis - "Bossy"
Tabi Bonney - "The Pocket"
Fergie - "Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)"
Crime Mob - "Rock Yo Hips"
DJ Khaled (feat. Akon, Kels, T-Pain, Lil' Kim and Young Jeezy) - "We Takin' Over (remix)"

And, indirectly, Freelance Hellraiser - "A Stroke of Genius" - a The Strokes v. Christina Aguilera mash-up I had been searching for for over 2 years.

Nice!
