Flashing Lights

Z-shared Kanye's "Flashing Lights" last night.

So the guy who likes to occassionally pre-empt some of my favorite tv programming visited Lancaster today. This article somewhat covers it, but one quote resonated:
"He is the best president in our lifetime," said Joanne Brinkley, who watched the motorcade pass the parking lot of Penn Cinemas near the Lancaster Airport.
Obviously, Ms. Brinkley is under the age of seven.

+ Best sports entity Gregg Doyel is correct in his assessment of Dmitri Young as NL Comeback Player of the Year. After all he's come back from, how could you not give it to Josh Hamilton (of the 'Nati)? He's come back from everything.

+ Trendspotting: The Daily Show spinoffs.

+ Wow. Whitlock cuts to the chase on the Jena 6 situation.

That Doyel... what a breath of contaminated air. 1nce again, he's wrong. Hamilton was a rookie who played 90 games. Neither ends of the comeback criteria were met. I do appreciate some of Doyel's links, even though he hates that I do.

Hamilton NL CPoY, 90 games or 162 games. Just think if he would have played upwards of 150 games - his numbers would have put ol' Meathook's to shame. As it was, they were fairly comparable.

Plus, Hamilton's Reds were in the race up until about 2 or 3 weeks left in the season. Dmitri's Nats were not winners.

And Dmitri is a former Red...still Hamilton is the comeback kid!

And if Mike Hampton would have pitched this season he could have won 16 games and iced a play-off berth for ATL.

Nats/Reds team success comparison is irrelevant for a Comebacker, but the Nats finished with a better record than Cincy. Being in a pennant race entering the last month of the season against a couple .500 teams is no achievement.

Also, Meathook's .320 BA projects out to .320 over 162 games.
