Centre County Recap

Saturday was pretty fun. Hit Penns Cave in Centre Hall around 10:15 AM. The tour of the water cavern by boat was really cool and informative.

Here we are heading back into the cave after a brief jaunt on the man-made lake. I recommend a trip to Penns Cave.

Funny/not-so-funny note: exiting the tour and walking back up the steps to "ground level" BAH and I spotted an older gentleman wearing a Notre Dame tee walking down the steps. "How about those Domers?" BAH quipped. The older guy went like, "Ahhhh" and kept walking down the steps. BAH and I cracked up. Little did we know that the good-natured ribbing would provide ND the karma they needed to upset UCLA later that day. Oh well.

Afterwards we hit downtown State College to walk around and try to catch some of the K-State v. KU game. Like LRH, BAH is a K-State alum. We visited The Lion's Den to try our luck. Success! I'll vouch for The Lion's Den - cheap strips and fries, cheap beer and FSN. Stayed with the game until early in the 3rd quarter and then headed to Beaver Stadium. The game wasn't all that exciting, but at least Penn State won.

These Hawkeye calisthenics quite possibly were the most interesting part of the game. How do I know? Because I didn't take any pictures of the actual game!

The game wasn't nearly as bad as I make it out to be. It just wasn't that exciting. In all, a good time and good day was had by both. Even got an invite to head out-of-town one of these days.
