Looking back, I'm glad I took a wait-and-see approach with Grindhouse. Tepid-to-poor reviews around the blogosphere coupled with disappointing box office numbers proved my skepticism was well-warranted. Saying that, I am holding nothing back when I say Hot Fuzz is a movie I am willing to use one (or two) of my four free movie passes on! From the same team that brought us Shaun of the Dead (nice!), Hot Fuzz is generating the growing buzz. Check BWE.tv for a pretty thorough review. Hot Fuzz - I'm there, wankers.
+ Props to DJ Diamond Kutz, who's been holding it down on Power 99's Drive at 5 mix (inside The Wendy Williams Experience) the last two days while Doc B's been out. Doc B is pretty solid, but Diamond Kutz has been throwing together some hot mixes during the drive home. 99 might want to think about flipping the script and putting the girl on more often.
+ Actually tuned in to see the phenomenon that is Dice-K. No doubt dude's a solid hurler, but he was getting shelled in his home debut against the Mariners. Dice-K will rack up some W's and K's, but Veritek needs to call for the gyroball more.
+ The Monopoly released their 2007 schedule today. The 'Birds, as usual, have a breezy start of the season and a pretty tough ending. I expect them to start out 3-0. They open with Favre, so that's always nice for some pick sixes. They always stuggle in their first game against the G-men, so they might be 3-1 through four. However, five out of their last six games are against legit playoff contenders, including games at New England, at Dallas and at NoLa. Tough sledding, but hopefully ol' #5 stays healthy and focused and leads the 'Birds to a strong finish. I'll make no prediction, since the draft hasn't taken place yet.
