Puppy Penalty - Puppy Holding

The national anthem at the Super Bowl would have been infinitely better if the NFL replaced Aaron Neville with Horatio Sanz-as-Aaron Neville!

I'd be remiss to mention the best tv programming Sunday - Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl II! They even had Harry Kalas doing some voiceover work. Nice touch! You can check out some highlights here.

This week in rampant Huggins speculation: Lon Kruger out, Huggins in at UNLV?? If only. I'd have zero problems switching my hoops allegiance from Cincinnati to the Runnin' Rebels.

Don't be surprised if Ana-Lucia (aka Michelle Rodriguez) meets an untimely end during a Lost episode in the coming weeks.

I caught two more documentaries over the weekend:

1. Grizzly Man: It's easy to paint this story as loony guy not so wild about people, loves bears, lives with bears, films time with bears, gets mauled and eaten by a bear. That is a pretty good summary, but the film is much more than that. Timothy Treadwell is extremely eccentric, but his story and time documented with bears is filled with beauty and wonder.

2. March of the Penguins: I tried to avoid seeing this movie because I thought it would be hokey and/or lame, but it was exactly the opposite. Having Morgan Freeman narrate doesn't hurt, either. Beautiful cinematography combined with an interesting narrative and subject matter.

I highly recommend both.
