Approximately eight years ago (which the story mentions) some "guy" attempted the same thing and even one-upped this group of underachievers by trying to undermine/talk trash about LTZ's Fourth of July Queen of Candles pageant, too. It should be noted he was tremendously unsuccessful on both counts.
Although... he was successful in getting me off my duff to write an extremely sarcastic letter to the editor in support of the Queen of Candles pageant. Hey, I was a crown bearer back in the day.
Anyway, if there are two things that will get me to defend my hometown and/or high school, it is the Warrior nickname and the Queen of Candles pageant.
