It was a good Independence Day. I spent the 4th watching volleyball on City Island. After a torrential downpour and regroup, LRH and I headed back into Harrisburg for a perfectly-timed dinner followed by a stroll to the Susquehanna riverside to catch the fireworks. The scene, by the river, looking up at the walking bridge and the night's sky, watching the fireworks...it was pretty sweet.
Vacation alert - after originally thinking that I would have zero going on this summer, I received an invite and quickly accepted a 3.5 day soiree later this month. Destination: Kansas!
The Sunflower State? A vacation spot? Yessir, and I couldn't be more looking forward to it and excited. You see, LRH is a KS native and a grad of:
I believe they say, "GoPowerCat!" LRH even hooked me up with the shirt. Yeah, it's official!
+ Heading off to work today, I was flipping through the dial and caught Ice Cube's classic "It Was A Good Day". Hadn't heard that song in so long.
Get me on the court and I'm trouble
Last week, messed around and got a triple-double
...The Lakers beat the SuperSonics
+ Tuned into Rome over the lunch trip to C-f-A and was pleasantly surprised to find the Sklar Brothers of "Cheap Seats" fame guest-hosting. (I never hesitated to run a "Cheap Seats" spot at SusCom). Anyway, I was treated to an hour of constantly cracking up at their witty banter. Some clutch zingers resulted from Roy Jones, Jr.'s "talking hard" comment regarding the Michael Vick dog fighting fiasco, the Ichiro quote generator and just anything, really. It was a blast.
Life couldn't be better.
