Movie Commentary: Slither

In what may be my final premium cable movie, I was able to take in Slither on Cinemax. Slither is a horror movie the way horror should be done: gory, gross, a little scary with a bit of humor added to the mix. Slither opens with a meteor crashing to earth, a dude getting infected with a worm-like alien virus, infecting others and then attempting to eat its way to Earth domination (starting with a small town). The dude from FOX's short lived series Firefly and soon-to-be FOX's short-lived series Drive stars. Co-starring is Elizabeth Banks, who had a cup of coffee on Scrubs as J.D.'s love interest late in season 5. Jenna Fischer (Pam of The Office fame) also has a smaller role in the film (her husband wrote and directed).

The characters were interesting and likeable. The dialogue was fun. The plot flowed. There was some gore and grossness, but it didn't go overboard or anything. Overall, I recommend Slither to anyone who enjoys a good, fun horror flick and can tolerate some gore and a bit of course language. I enjoyed Slither, and am glad I finally got to see it.

Any chance Slither was as good as Sliver?

There is nary a sliver of a chance that Sliver is better than Slither.

But...could Sliver be a candidate for MRM on This, That and he Said What?
