What Would D-Temp Do?

All this buzz surrounding NFL Network and cable nets' subsequent choices to shift NFL Net to their standard lineups, keep it on digital and air the games, keep it on digital and not air games or anything in-between got me thinking...what would D-Temp do?

Suppose he was still wearing his Vice President of Marketing and Product Development hat at the 'Com. What would he do re: NFL Net? Would he...

1. Keep NFL Net on digital with games (like Comcast)?

2. Migrate NFL Net onto the standard lineup and air games (a la Blue Ridge)?

3. Keep NFL Net on digital and black out the games to save some cash (like Insight - until a few days ago)?

Hmmm...I wonder if someone who has access to D-Temp could find this out.

Oh, you mean me. I have access but would rather speculate than actually access.

First off, eliminate #3... he's no cash-saver.

I'm not sure if he's the kind of person that would refuse to give in to the NFL's strong-arm tactics just to spite them.

He was really all about playing up the inclusion of NFL Network on digital to try to counter-act the DirecTV exclusivity. So maybe he would like to take that a step further and put it on basic and promote the heck out of it. Which would have been cool because I could have created more web banners with Eagles linemen on them.

What do you think he would do?

D-Temp liked those NFL Network folks, so I'm guessing he would try to justify the Blue Ridge route (bumping it up to standard). If he couldn't get that past Munchel and Dave Kennedy, he would probably just leave it on digital, just as an extra-special incentive to get digital (like Comcast).

Wouldn't it be interesting just to get his take, though? See if he's still thinking about that stuff?

Creating more Eagles web banners is always a plus. But maybe not for this year's squad - they don't deserve any promotion. How 'bout a little Vince Young web banner?
