Trickin' and Treatin'

Tricks to executives with waterworks. C'mon, hold it together, big men! Spare me your choking up and your tears. Show me the money! Believe that, some greenbacks will do a much better job of comforting and easing my anxiety than your sympathy and words of encouragement.

Treats to DQ Blizzards. I don't need a lame DQ-related contest on The Apprentice to remind me of the Blizzard, however our local branch did close up for the season yesterday. Boo-urns to that. Is there a better ice cream treat out there? No way!

Tricks to the Philadelphia Eagles for becoming hard to watch. The Philadelphia Eagles used to be the most exciting team in the NFL featuring a high-flying offense backed by a relentless, blitzing defense. This season the Eagles have turned into a frustrating, one dimensional offense and a defense with a penchant for giving up the big play and stopping very few people. Their non-committment to the run is alarming. Westbrook is healthy (but why are we stiffing him with the contract? last year everybody was saying he's one of the best players on the team). Lamar Gordon is an upgrade of Dorsey Levens. And Shaun Andrews (aka the human bulldozer) is back from injury. This team should have few problems running the ball. So what's the problem, Big Red? On defense, which squad is going to show up week-to-week? They're total Jekyl & Hyde. One week they're limiting LT to 33 total yards. The next they're making Jake Plummer look like Dan Fouts. Get this stuff fixed!

Treats to Penn State for being fun to watch and making themselves relevant again. The Purdue game was great. My only disappointment was not getting to see Derrick Williams play. But major props to the freshman, Michael Robinson and the D for breathing life back into Penn State football.
