Monday Afternoon Football Gloss-over

Penn State
For the first time in years, it feels good to be a Penn State fan. Sporting a 5-0 record with Ohio State visiting the Beav this weekend - not too shabby. After the first five games, it is clear that Michael Robinson is the key to the team's success. When MRob plays smart and values the ball (read no turnovers) Penn State is going to be a very tough out. The freshman (Williams, King, Norwood, Butler (RS) and Kelly) are just breathing new life into the program - especially Williams and King. The O-line seems to be improving, and I'll take Hunt and Scott over any other RB combo in the Big Ten. The defense is solid and played huge against Minnehaha. I've always been pretty down on Calvin Lowery, but he is displaying a viciousness this year that I really like. Props to PSU. It feels good to a be a fan again.

Philadelphia Eagles
I bet Troy Aikman and the Kansas City fans felt pretty confident when the Chiefs went up 17-0 and 23-6 on Sunday. Naturally, I watched the Birds and remained pretty stoic through the first half debacle. Wasn't I mad?

No, for some reason, I just knew the Eagles were going to come back. Believe me, I don't get that feeling with every game. But it just seemed too easy. Everything was going right for the Chiefs and wrong for the Eagles. I knew it was just a matter of time before the Birds reversed the 'mo and scored a relatively easy W. So bring on the 'Boys. I really want to get the Redskins out of the way, though. Are they the biggest fraud team in recent history or what? That team is bad. Jeez!
